A graduate of Saint Stephen’s and Saint Agnes High School in Virginia, Michael Ikossi participated in Lead America’s Congressional Student Leadership Conference on National Leadership Summit and was a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. Michael Ikossi experienced continued success in his educational pursuits at Loyola University in New Orleans, where he earned a bachelor’s degree and was named to Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal Justice Honor Society.
Alpha Phi Sigma supports continued education in the criminal justice field through affiliation with three graduate schools offering master’s degrees in the subject. The society actively promotes Mercyhurst University, Fairmont State University, and Nova Southeastern University (NSU), the latter of which was recognized for offering one of the best online criminal justice master’s program for veterans.
The list of top programs, released by U.S. News & World Report, had NSU in a tie for 21st place. It was ranked 22nd in the previous report. In order to qualify for the rankings, schools had to be among the top 75 percent of schools in the publication’s 2015 Best Online Programs list, of which NSU was also 22nd. The school’s criminal justice graduate program is exclusively online, allowing students flexibility in their pursuit of the degree. It’s primary suitable for students seeking a career as a detective, police officer, DEA agent, or other position in law enforcement.
